I am a qualified Air/Ground Radio Operator as well a a flying instructor and examiner. If you already fly you will most probably have spoken to me as I often cover the A/G radio station at Damyns Hall - "Hornchurch Radio".
I run a course which is aimed at preparing pilots for the Radio Telephony (RT) examinations to so that you can obtain your RT License. The course offers a great opportunity to learn and practice RT procedures in a relaxed and fun environment.
Course Detail
This course is run over 2 evenings and costs £90. The first evening is a condensed and relevant overview of all you need to know to get you started and proficient on the radio at Damyns Hall Aerodrome using correct phraseology in the circuit. We provide you with a unique opportunity to carry out simulated practice of realistic aerodrome situations. The course is delivered as a condensed 2-3 hour session and is interactive and entertaining.
The second evening is aimed at getting you up to speed to take the RT written exam by covering more of the advanced phraseology associated with air traffic control and en-route procedural radio calls such as flight information, radar services and special VFR clearances.
We also have an established arrangement with an RT Examiner who visits Damyns Hall Airfield on a monthly basis so you can take your test in a familiar environment and don’t have the trouble of finding an examiner!
You can also purchase recommended post course reading to help you revise for the exams.
